报告人简介：

Michael Rowan is Executive Editor for a portfolio of journals at the Royal Society of Chemistry. Michael has over 20 years' experience in scholarly publishing. Before joining the RSC, he spent over a decade at a large commercial publisher as the Editor-in-Chief of a catalysis journal. He joined the RSC in 2022 and is responsible for leading editorial strategy and development, working closely with academic editors, authors and reviewers to deliver high-quality, impactful research to a global audience.

His work has focused on developing journal programmes through data-informed strategy, strengthening peer review and editorial policy, and supporting the transition towards open access publishing. He has a particular interest in fostering collaborative relationships with academic societies and scientific communities worldwide. Michael holds a PhD in homogeneous catalysis from the University of East Anglia and maintains a strong interest in green and sustainable science.

讲座内容：

This presentation will provide an overview of the Royal Society of Chemistry and its physical chemistry journals, with particular emphasis on Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics (PCCP) and Faraday Discussions. It will discuss what editors look for during initial assessment, how to communicate physical chemistry insight clearly, and how authors can improve their chances of successful publication through strong framing, appropriate evidence and effective scientific communication. The session will also introduce opportunities for researchers to engage with PCCP, Faraday Discussions and the wider international physical chemistry community through publishing, peer review and scientific collaboration.
